Mike Beazley has a long background in social care, as a care worker, manager and educator in England and Scotland. In the former Social Services Inspectorate, he headed the team that set up and ran the performance assessment system in England, as part of the wider CPA programme. He moved to the Commission for Social Care Inspection in 2004 as Head of Information and Analytical Services, and left to set up CaPP in 2006. Since then, his work has included the re-writing of the national assessment standards for CSCI, setting up strategic objectives and accountability agreements for social care in a large county council.
