Whilst Executive Director, Colin was responsible for Adult Social Care, Housing and Community Re-generation, as well as being the Council's Lead Officer for health improvement and community cohesion. He also served on the Professional Executive Committee (PEC) for the local Primary Care Trust.
Colin was also Chair of the National ADASS Information Management Group for some 6 years and was also a member of the ADASS Standards and Performance Committee and the joint ADASS/CSCI Performance Co-ordinating Group, having previously being seconded to the Dept. of Health to serve on the National Performance Assessment Development Team back in 1998/99.
Colin is now an Independent Social Care Consultant and a Non Executive Director with Pennine Care NHS Mental Health Foundation Trust. He also recently served as a member of the NHS North West Commission on Mental Health Services which presented its Report in late 2008, and is now involved in the subsequent NHS North West Mental Health Implementation Plan (MHIP) as a member of the Commissioning Expert Reference Group.
