He has also held the joint post of Director of Commissioning with a PCT. Having held a variety of practice and management roles since he first became a social worker in 1972, Mike has a deep commitment to social care and has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Prior to joining the Department of Health’s Care Service Efficiency Delivery Team, Mike led his department through a transformational change, improving the performance rating from 1 to 3 stars.
Working with the Care Services Efficiency Delivery team, Mike has worked on the development of Crisis Response Service models and has contributed to the work of the office of the National Director for Learning Disabilities in developing strategies to reduce the numbers of people in residential care. Working with a small team Mike has overseen the development of CSEDs Telecare project.
